The one commercial arrangement here, described before you use it

There is a fare look up on the front page. This page explains what it is, who answers it and how the money works, in plain words and without a second copy of the form.

The form lives on the front page only. This page is the account of it, not another one.

The look up is a plain form of our own making. You name both ends of a trip and the days, and it hands that one line to a booking host on our own subdomain, where the fares, the seats and any payment live.

What it is not

It is not a booking desk. This field book sells nothing, holds no inventory, takes no payment and issues no ticket. If a trip is booked, the contract is with whoever sold it, and their support is the support that can act.

It is also not a comparison table dressed up as journalism. It sits on the front page under the reading, it appears exactly once on the site, and no record in this publication mentions it.

What happens when you send it

1. The form assembles one short line: the two airport or city codes, the dates, the cabin and the number of travellers.
2. That line goes to the booking host on our own subdomain, in the address bar, where you can read it before you press anything.
3. The host answers with what it has. Everything after that point is between you and the host.

Nothing is stored here. The suggestions you see while typing come from a file that ships inside this site, so no request leaves the page until you actually send the trip.

The money, in one paragraph

The look up below is handed to a booking host, which is where the fares, the seats and any payment live. A booking that follows can pay this field book a commission. The fare you are shown is the fare anybody is shown, and reading these pages costs nothing and never asks.

What this means for the writing

Nothing, and that is checkable rather than merely promised. No record in this field book names an airline, recommends a route, mentions a fare or benefits in any way from a booking. The independence page states the rule, and the method page states the practice.

Were that ever to stop being true, the announcement would appear on the method page ahead of the first record affected by it.

Where the answers live

The booking host publishes its own terms and its own privacy policy inside its own pages. This site links nowhere, so those are read where they are, on the host, once the look up has opened.

The privacy policy here describes exactly what leaves this site when a trip is sent, which is the trip and nothing else.
